Most businesses don’t know how bad their data is until someone looks properly. Not because nobody cares, but because the mess is spread across spreadsheets, inboxes, an ERP, a CRM and a handful of exports nobody has compared side by side in years. A data audit is that proper look, and in the UAE it’s usually fixed-price: AED 3,000 to 8,000, done in one to two weeks, with a written report at the end that’s yours to keep whether or not you do anything else with us.
The question behind the question is usually “is this worth paying for, or can we just sort it out ourselves?” For a small, single-system business, often you can. The audit earns its price once there’s more than one system involved — a CRM that doesn’t agree with the finance spreadsheet, branches keeping their own records, or a growing team quietly re-entering the same numbers by hand because nothing is actually connected. That’s the point at which an outside, structured look tends to find things an internal review misses, simply because nobody inside the business is comparing every source against every other source at once.
The work starts by mapping every place your data lives — spreadsheets, email attachments, your ERP, your CRM, any database that holds customer or operational records. Once that map exists, each source gets tested for duplicates, gaps, conflicting records and the manual steps someone quietly performs to keep two systems roughly in sync. Every fault found is scored, so you can see which ones are costing you time or money and which are harmless.
The output is a Data Health Report: what’s broken, what it’s costing you, and what to fix first, with a price against each fix. It is not a sales pitch dressed up as a report — it’s a working document you can hand to your own team, or to anyone else, and act on. Nothing commits you to a further stage. Most clients start here precisely because it carries no obligation: you get the report, you decide what happens next.
A short audit sounds like it should be instant, but the time goes into comparing sources against each other, not just looking at one system in isolation. Two records that look fine on their own often disagree once you line them up against a third source: a customer who exists twice under slightly different spellings, a stock figure that matches the warehouse sheet but not the finance system, a status field that three different teams update in three different ways. That comparison is where the real faults surface, and it’s why a rushed audit tends to miss the problems that matter most.
The length also depends on how many sources there are to map in the first place. A business running on one main system with a couple of spreadsheets on the side sits toward the one-week end. A group with several branches, each keeping its own version of the same records, sits toward two weeks, because every branch adds another source to reconcile against the rest.
Access is read-only, limited to the systems you agree to, and only granted after an NDA is signed. Many audits can run on exports alone, so in practice nothing needs to leave your control for the audit itself to happen. If your systems are locked down tightly, that’s not a blocker — it’s the normal starting point, and it’s the same starting point for any business with security or compliance obligations it isn’t willing to relax for a one-off piece of work.
The report sometimes shows the data is in better shape than assumed, in which case there’s nothing further to buy. More often it surfaces a handful of fixable problems, and the next step depends on what they are: a clean-up and organising pass to get everything into one trusted source (AED 8,000 – 25,000), live dashboards built on your real numbers once that source exists (AED 10,000 – 30,000, plus AED 1,500 – 4,000 a month for hosting and support), or, for businesses that want to ask questions of their own data directly, a private AI reachable through an MCP server (AED 15,000 – 50,000, plus AED 2,000 – 8,000 a month). None of these is assumed or bundled — the report tells you honestly which, if any, you actually need.
